Key Components of E-Cigarettes

There are altogether three essential components in the electronic cigarettes, namely the cartridge, atomizer, and of course the power supply. The cartridge refers to the mouthpiece and it usually doubles up as the small reservoir holding the liquid that is to be vaporized. On the other hand, the atomizer holds the heating element that is responsible for vaporizing the liquid.

The third important component is the power supply, which is the type of portable battery. Some of the other electronic components which are necessary for operation are housed together within the power unit. Other components that are related to the power supply would be the car chargers for electronic cigarettes.

The cartridge of the electronic cigarettes is usually a small disposable plastic container with an opening on each end. One side of the opening is to be placed in the user’s mouth, and the other is attached to the atomizer which is the heating element. There is also an option that is available in the market known as the cartomizer, this component integrates both the cartridge and atomizer into one single piece. With this option, the component is disposable, as compared to the standalone atomizers which are reusable and also comparatively costly.

Most of the reusable components in the electronic cigarette are manufactured based on some standards for the threaded fittings which allows the components to be interchangeable. Similar to any portable units, the e-cigarette contains a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The housing of the power source and electronic circuit is usually the largest component of the electronic cigarette.

There are various types of chargers that are available for cigarette batteries – out of which are AC outlet chargers, car chargers and even USB chargers. Some of these manufacturers would even offer portable charging case or better known as PCC – which is a portable case that house a large battery, and in turn able to charge the smaller batteries in the electronic cigarettes.
